What is Shop Pay Installments?

Shop Pay Installments (powered by Affirm, formerly known as PayBright) lets you split your purchase into flexible payments over time — so you can get what you love today and pay over time. Available at your favourite retailers, both in-store and online.

By selecting Shop Pay at checkout, you can choose to pay in full or split your purchase into easy installments, subject to eligibility and approval.

How do I use Shop Pay Installments?

• Select Shop Pay at checkout: Shop at participating stores and choose Shop Pay as your payment option.
• Get set up: Use your mobile phone number and email to set up your plan in about 60 seconds. Subject to credit approval.
  
• Enjoy your purchase: Confirm your payment plan and you’re done — enjoy your purchase today and pay over time.

Payment Options

In Canada:

• Biweekly payments: Split your purchase into 4 equal, interest‑free payments (available for orders from $50 to $999.99 CAD).
• Monthly payments: Spread the cost over 3–24 months with interest rates from 0–31.99% APR (available for orders from $150 to $30,000 CAD, subject to provincial limits and eligibility).
  

In the United States:

• Biweekly payments: 4 equal, interest‑free payments for eligible order amounts.
• Monthly payments: Spread the cost over 3–24 months with interest rates from 0–36% APR, depending on eligibility and terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does using Shop Pay Installments involve a credit check?

• Four biweekly payments: No impact on your credit score.
• Monthly payments: May affect your credit score if payments are missed.

What if I can’t make a payment? Contact the Affirm team directly via the Affirm Help Center (Canada) or Affirm Help Center (U.S.) to review available options.

Are there late or NSF fees? No — there are no additional charges or late fees beyond any applicable interest.

How do returns work if I paid using Shop Pay Installments? Purchases follow our standard return policy. Approved refunds will reduce, cancel, or refund your Shop Pay Installments balance. If refunded via store credit or gift card, you must still complete your installment payments in full. Interest paid on monthly plans is not refundable.

What if the order is canceled? You won’t be charged if the order is canceled before payment capture. If you’ve already made a payment, refunds may take 5–10 business days to appear. If your order total changes, your payment plan will be adjusted. 

United States
Rates from 0–36% APR. Payment options through Shop Pay Installments are subject to an eligibility check and are provided by these lending partners: affirm.com/lenders. Options depend on your purchase amount, and a down payment may be required. State notices to consumers: affirm.com/licenses.

Canada
Rates from 0–31.99% APR (subject to provincial regulatory limitations). Payment options through Affirm Canada Holdings Ltd. (“Affirm”) are subject to an eligibility check and depend on purchase amount, payment terms, vary by merchant, and may not be available in all provinces/territories. Minimum purchase and down payment may be required. For example, an $800 purchase could be 12 monthly payments of $72.21 at 15% APR for total repayment of $866.48 (credit charges of $66.48), or 4 interest‑free payments of $200 every 2 weeks.
